I am on 1/4 tab twice daily. I feel like I'm crashing again.

Have you updated Dr. L.? The next time you have a consult with him, see if he can't order a couple of emergency cortisol injection kits with X# refills. Sounds like you could have used it. Seriously.. Believe me, emotional stuff can trigger a crisis. Dr. L. needs to know about the worsening of salt wasting symptoms too. Here's a link posted by Catherine on the Australian Forum at RTH. It's good. www.addisons.org.uk/info/manual/crisismanagement.pdfLaurie

Oh thanks for the link Laurie. I came across this the other day and couldn't find it again!
Yes I emailed Dr. L about it and he told me I should have taken WAY more HC than I did. He said I could/should have taken 40mg in the morning, 30mg at noon and then 20mg at 4PM. I was no where near this much and he said next time not to be afraid to keep taking more until all my symptoms clear. I guess I learned the hard way!
This might be a dumb question but why does it matter my salt wasting symptoms got worse during the "attack". If you could just expand on that, that would be wonderful!
This morning I had some self-ordered labs drawn (a CBC and CMP) so I'm curious to see what this little attack did to me. I felt TERRIBLE this morning with chest pains (I think low potassium), so I am curious to see what comes back! All yesterday my chest was really hurting, but with everything else going on it was the least of my concern. The severe migraine was just awful.
I certainly never want to go through that again. It was the scariest thing that's ever happened to me. I felt so out of control. I definitely could have used a shot. You are right. I will ask the doctor about having a few injections in the house just in case something else like this happens again.
Thanks for all the help!

I am just thinking that your salt wasting sx might be getting worse or you just haven't reached optimal florinef dosing yet. That's why Dr. L. needs to know.
Not to scare you,but you could have died. You were in shock!! Have you received your medic-alert bracelet yet?
Yes, you need lots more cortisol with crisis. You still might need to stress dose for that profound stressor. You don't need to wean if stress dosing for two days. IF more than two days, then you will need to wean HC until back to usual dosing.

Laurie I felt like I was dying. That's why I don't want to go through that ever again. I have not received my medic-alert bracelet, but it was shipped yesterday. Shouldn't take too much longer!
I got the self-ordered labs back and they looked fairly decent actually!. I now wonder what is causing all of this muscle aches, pains and numbness I've been experiencing. I thought it was low potassium, but it's actually higher than it has been in the past. Eating 7 bananas the day before might have something to do with it though...LOL
I'm going to update my log later today, so you can see them. My liver enzymes are way down, which is what I was mostly checking for anyway.

I just looked at your log. You potassium still looks low(3.8). Why don't you try mixing 1/4tsp of nosalt in some orange juice. Do this a few times/day. Nosalt/fake salt is potassium. It's cheaper this way than buying OTC potassium pills which only have 99mg/tablet. See how this works.
The aches/pains may be due to low potassium. It may also be due to hypothyroid. With taking HC, your body has been utilizing your thyroid hormones... Thus your free thyroid hormone levels likely have dropped.
Numbness. May be low B12. Are you taking vitamin B12? If not, why don't you start taking 5,000mcg/day of methyl B12 lozenges. Be sure to now take folinic acid too(bioavailable folate).
I'd also suggest taking betaine HCL with meals to increase absorption of nutrients from the food you eat. With hypothyroidism, we have slower gut and less gastric acid. Both play a role in absorption of nutrients.

I guess I am just happy when it is actually above range these days. lol That was a day after eating 7 bananas, so it probably is low. The aches/pains may be due to low potassium. Both play a role in absorption of nutrients. Laurie Dr. L is thinking it is my thyroid. I told him about needing excessive amounts of B12 and he told me there is no way my levels are low with the amount I take (in addition to the injections I get). Today I am feeling crazy jittery, tightness in the throat and really just out of my mind. I'd rather feel like this than depressed and can't get out of bed though. haha! I took 1/2 tab of florinef this morning yet today my BP is the worse I've seen in 3 weeks. Sitting BP 102/77 HR 113 Stanind BP 96/76 HR 123 I suspect it might be because the humidity is creeping up into the 70% range, which always puts a LOT of strain on my body.

Dana,
Your symptoms of intolerance to heat/humidity plus orthostatic Bp/pulse further supports continued/worsening salt wasting. How much florinef/day are you takiing? How much sea salt are you taking?
When will Dr.L. be retesting your thyroid?
