Anyone with an opinion or suggestion??? I am really growing tired of this. I can't seem to get my energy back up & digestion is still POOR. Accomplished nothing for months. I don't have all the lab results available but my most recent cortisol level (without taking hydrocort the day before & day of lab work) was 1.4--- I was told the good range is 2 to 4. Which is not even similar to the numbers I see people talk about here. I'm considering taking hydrocort twice a day to see if things change. Won't be seeing the Doc again for 2 months. I now take 10 mg hydrocort/day & synthroid 50 mcg/day. (secondary AI, hypoT, hypopit) Suggestions anyone??? Thank you.

As mentioned in other post you need adequate Cortisol replacement and thats a minimum of 25 mg HC spread over 4-5 doses. Some need a bit more. You should also be doing general Adrenal support measures (Vit C, B complex, B12 if suboptimal, Iron if Ferritin is low, Vit D if suboptimal, Selenium, unrefined Sea Salt, Magnesium, Calcium). Once on HC Cortisol testing is NOT accurate & is pointless. You are also on a VERY low dose of T4 only. Unlikely this is at all adequate but probably fortunate you are not on more as your Adrenals are NOT adaequately supported. T4 only meds are particularly stressful on Adrenals too. Many HypoT have difficulty with T4 to T3 conversion that is why Armour is better for most. Armour also has Calcitonin, T1 T2 etc which synthetics dont have. You mentioned Osteoporosis VIt D should be optimised for bone health. have you tested? PTH, corrected Calcium, Phosphorus & ALP should also be checked. I would suggest you consider upping your HC & once that is done consider changing to Armour. As to poor digestion Apple Cider Vinegar or Betaine Hcl may help. Good Probiotics & Digestive Enzymes help too.

Lethal Lee - Thank you so much for your response.
Adrenal - I do take Ca, D, B Complex, B12, & they have tested OK. (May need to add Se, Mg & C.) Is this enough support for me to increase Hydrocort? Today I am taking my regular 10 mg, & adding 5mg. In a week or so I will begin 10 + 5 + 5. Sound good? (I've also taken Forteo for about 9 months & have no bone dens improvement from that.) Thank you. If you wrote the response to my Cortisol question, thank you again.
