Hi Ya'll,
I was wondering... can progesterone turn into, or do the work of aldosterone? Seems my progesterone is always low. I have primary and secondary AI. Not taking flornef yet. Could my progesterone shift over and do the job of the aldosterone?
Thanks,
Joy

While you can receive some aldosterone and cortisol benefits with progesterone...you can't rely on progesterone to carry the full load, so to speak.

Aldosterone is normally 'made' from progesterone but not if you're AI. In addition, progesterone competes for aldosterone receptors but doesn't do the same thing. If you have AI you need to start florinef ASAP. If progesterone is low, you need to address this as well.
