- Age & Sex
25 y/o Female
- DXd Conditions
Diabetes Insipidus, Alopecia Areata, Vitamin D deficiency, Vitamin B12 deficiency, Iron deficiency, orthostatic hypotension, and parasthesia (relieved with B12 injections).
- Family History
Mother's side-Brain cancer, heart attacks, diabetes Type 2, pernicious anemia, lupus, thyroid cancer (the rare deadly one)
Father's side-Emphysema, lung disorders, stroke, Hashimoto's, heart disorders.
My entire immediate family is overweight.
Mother-lupus, probably undiagnosed hypothyroid
Father-Diabetes Type 2 (he won't tell us this though), Thickening of the lungs (can't remember the exact name).
Sister-malignant brain tumor Astrocytoma, but had all the characteristics of a glioblastoma. She was dx at 26 years old. Doc said she is 1 of 50 people in the world to have this type of brain tumor.
Brother-fine so far, but he's only 18.
- Current Medication & Dosing Schedule (inc. date last updated) Updated April 30, 2009
HC--~27.5mg daily-10,10,7.5 dosing schedule atm
Florinef--1/4 tab in the morning and night.
- Diet
Certainly isn't as good as it used to be. Mostly homemade meals-Buffalo, lean beef, salads, potatoes, rice etc. I have been avoiding all wheat. Ultimately my husband and I may be on a gluten free diet for life if he tests positive for Celiac. No biggie for me at this point. It's the hidden gluten that's hard to avoid though.
- Labs Results (inc. ranges)
Here's everything I have from up to ~2 years ago. There's a lot I am still missing that I need to request.
5/17/2007
I went to this doc because I started having night sweats and lost a lot of weight. I felt terrible and then went to the ER a week later, which was also a waste of my time.
My PCP said these results were all normal. Only weeks later did I actually SEE the results.

Clinical Data: PT with Diabetes Insipidus Hypotension
MRI OF BRAIN WITH ATTENTION TO THE PITUITARY GLAND 2/12/08
Indication: Patient with a history of diabetes insipidus. LIghtheadedness, dizziness and low blood pressure.
Comparison Studies: None.
Technique: Sagittal T1, axial T1 postcontrast, axial T2, axial FLAIR, axial diffusion ADC map, axial and coronal T1 thin section pre- and postcontrast with attention to the pituitary.
15mL of intravenous contrast was utilized for the contrast portion of this examination.
Findings: There are no midline anomalies. The cervicomedullary junction is unremarkable. The pituitary gland and stalk appear unremarkable. The posterior pituitary gland is present. There is no evidence for ectopia or absence of the posterior pituitary. There is no evidence for micro or macroadenoma or pituitary gland abnormality. There is no midline shift or mass effect. There is no intracranial hemorrhage. There is partial opacification of the left frontal sinus as well as minimal opacification of the ethmoid air cells in the left sphenoid sinus.
IMPRESSION
1. Normal appearing MRI of the brain with attention to the pituitary with and without contrast.
2. Left frontal, sphenoid, and ethmoid sinus disease.

Thyroid Ultrasound Results
CLINICAL DATA: ABN THYROID STUDIES WT LOSS
History: The patient is a 24-year-old female with weight loss and abnormal thyroid test.
Findings: Real-time ultrasound evalutation of the thyroid gland was performed. The right thyroid lobe measures 4.0 X 0.9 X 1.0 cm in size and the left thyroid lobe measures 4.0 X 0.7 X 1.2 cm in size. The thyroid gland demonstrates relatively homogeneous echogenicity and acoustic texture, this measurs approximately 1 mm. No nodules or cysts are seen.
IMPRESSION Normal thyroid ultrasound.

I just received these results today (April 3rd 2009) from a recent ER visit where I was having sharp chest pains. It was going on for 2 weeks before I finally had enough and went to the ER to rule out possible pulmonary condition.

D-Dimer 0.51--(0.54-2.09) LOW But it states this underneath-
"To maximize the negative predictive value for the purpose of ruling out DVT or PE, a cutoff value of less than 1.0 is used.
A D-Dimer of less than 1.0 and otherwise normal patient history equals a low probability of DVT or PE. At levels below 1.0 the negative predictive value for DVT and PE approaches 100%.
Conversely, a value of 1.0 or greater cannot be used for the diagnosis of DVT or PE without the use of radiological procedures. IF a D-Dimer is great than 1.0, the investigation should be continued as clinically indicated."

- Symptoms
Thirsty, desert mouth (DI related most likely)
Low blood pressure
Lightheadedness
Heart palps
Near fainting upon standing during hot weather
Blood pressure drops upon standing
Extreme fatigue
Depression
Difficulty staying asleep-I wake up every single night.
Zero sex drive-Putting lots of strain on marriage
Night sweats/hot flashes
Bloated, puffiness of fingers, face
Irritable not associated with PMS
Weight gain and weight loss-I have periods of both
- Basal Temperature & Blood Pressure
Basal Temperatures have been fluctuating A LOT as of the end of March 2009.
Typically 96.8-97.9
The higher temperatures are at the end of my cycle. I use the Lady Comp for birth control and something has changed because the machine has been confused with my fertility for ~3 months. It goes only by basal temperature.
Blood pressures are always low 90's/70. If it's a bad salt wasting day, then my BPs upon standing drop into the 70's/60.
