My fiance has had sore joints for about 1 year now. I've always thought it was cortisol related, but since then she has started thyroid and cortef. Since September, she has slowly worked her way up to 30mg cortef, and 60mcg of t3 (she stabilized on the cortef before adding t3). Also, the past couple of days she hasn't been sleeping well, usually because of night sweats (she's not really that warm, so maybe cold sweats?) Her basal tamps are averaging 97.5, so she isn't hyper.
My question is, could the joint and sleep issues coincide with low cortisol? Should she consult her dr. about adding in medrol in place of cortef?
Thanks!

What testing did your fiance have prior to starting HC and T3? Has she had any other tests done recently? Is there any improvement with joint pain since taking HC and T3?
Current tests that would be informative would include TSH,FT4,FT3, Aldosterone with Renin, sodium/potassium,fasting glucose, ferrtin, B12, vitamin D.
Does she have episodes of hypoglycemia during the day? Hypoglycemia can be related to low cortisol. If it happens at night, this COULD be resulting in her night sweats. She should eat a protein snack before bed and take a small dose of HC just as her head hits the pillow at night.
