Can one be sure of low aldosterone problems with low serum levels of sodium and potassium? My aldosterone blood levels come out normal all the time but I feel I have low aldosterone and my sodium and pot. levels are low. thanks, christine

Did you test on day 3 of your menstrual cycle (if applicable)? Did you abstain from salty food for 24hours and remain upright/sitting for two hours prior to testin? These variables all impact results. Did you have sodium and potassium tested at same time of aldo/renin?
Did you do flashlight test of your pupils? Go in dark room and shine flash light. Pupils should constrict and stay that way. If pupils flutter...this is also consistent with low aldo.
Feel free to post your results. Laurie
