I have seen the endo today and have been told I don’t qualify for T replacement. I am a difficult case and he will confer next week with his colleagues. I wonder what I can do. I am thinking of taking T replacement to see how I go.
These are the results I have had done:
April 2008 T – 330
Jan 2009 T – 200
Feb 2009 T – 440 ng/dl
My LH levels are always about 3-4 so mid range. He says this indicates the T is ok.
My FSH is always way over range at 8.5-9. This explains my poor fertility. I am producing about 18m sperm.
I had an undescended testicle until 9 years old and reckon this doesn’t work at all. I understand we only need one testicle, but even so.
He says he is worried that I will get prostate cancer and stroke if he gives me T. I am at a loss what to do. Life is really crap. I have all the symptoms of low T. Have you any advise?

It sounds like you have a very unknowledgeable doctor. Endos are typically seen as not good options for these types of issues. You need a doc that specializes in male hormones. Do a google search for anti-aging clinics + city, state you live in. There are a lot of good resources online.

mars whereabouts are you? there's a list of private docs you can get from thyroid UK, they would be more open to trying T supplementation i think. there's one in north london i went to, let me know if you need the details. i didn't go beyond the initial appointment though as i had decided to come back to Oz by then to try to rescue my health. so i can't comment as to how good he is, but at least it's an option.

also, susanne on the real thyroid forum knows of a lot of hormone docs in Europe and UK too, you can try PM-ing her.
