Hi Ladies, I would be so grateful if you could interpret the follow labs. I am 4o years old, I have 3 children, last one I had 3 years ago. Cycle every month but only lasts 2 days.Tests taken on day 3 of cycle;
FSH 3.3 (2.5-10.2) LH 4.3 (1.9-12.5) What do each of these exactly do? Directly related to pit.? Are these terribly low for a 40 year old?
Testosterone 35 (14-76) Estradiol 83 (19-83) I dab on estradiol cream now & then Estrogens Total 40 (61-394)
BUN 15 (5-26) Creatine serum .78 (.57-1.0) BUN/Creatine ratio 19 (8-27) Potassium serum 4.2 (3.5-5.2) Sodium serum 139 (135-145)
Thank you again, Christine

Hi Christine, While your LH and FSH don't look great, I can't be certain because you were taking estrogen at the time. Do you have any labs where you were on no sex hormones? Are you deficient in any other pituitary hormones? Cheers

Hi Ruth, Thanks again for your response. These are results on no hormones about 8 months ago. LH 3.7 (1.9-12.5) on day 3 FSH 3.5 (2.5-10.2) on day 3
On the first test posted here; Although I am taking estradiol, isn't my total estrogen low? And testosterone? Thanks so much Ruth.. Christine

Putting all the pieces together - very low estrogen, low testosterone, low LH and low FSH, as well as scanty periods - suggests secondary hypogonadism. BUT it would be good to get them all assessed together, also including free testosterone, SHBG and DHEAS. Are you deficient in any other pituitary hormones? Cheers
