Chris, I read that HC helps amino acids mobilize through the liver but blocks absorption of protein and amino acids in the muscles. What do you think about this? Is there a way we can prevent this and get the proteins and amino acids into our muscles? If we take amino acids in the morning before we take HC maybe some absorption will take place? Also, do you know what vitamins and minerals will be depleted by 30mgs of HC a day?
Thanks, Christine

Hi Christine, This will occur if you are on a pharmacological dose of cortisol replacement. Excessively high cortisol suppresses growth hormone (GH) secretion, which promotes insulin resistance, and results in muscle loss and fat accumulation (central). You are currently taking a physiological dose of HC, so this doesn't apply to you. The only advice is that you take most of your dose in the morning, since GH is secreted at night time. If deficient, your system will work better on cortisol replacement. Cheers
