Okay, so I think I am at least making a little bit of progress, please tell me that I am?
I finally (AT LEAST) got an ENDO doctor WILLING to test my cortisol. He didn't mention any saliva testing, but he did (on his own decision) decide to test my 24 hour Cortisol-Free/Urine.
He saw all my previous labs: Low Vit D, High LDL Cholesterol, Very low Testosterone, Low DHEA, High TSH, low blood pressure, slow heart rate etc....and he said that I will be a complex case due to all of my obviously troublesome test results and all of my symptoms. I told him I can live with the hair loss and the dry skin, but please just give me my energy back, that is all I ask.
He took 4 big tubes of blood, testing for iron, and all sorts of things, and said to do a 24 hour cortisol urine test and I would see him again in 3 weeks.
Does it sound like I might make some progress with this guy? He seemed very nice and very concerned about my severe fatigue. He told me that he wanted to do some research on my hormones before he gives me any official diagnosis or medications.
I feel like I am at least getting somewhere now.
I told him my libido is very low, and it wasn't always this way, but my testosterone is almost to ZERO, and this could explain my loss of libido. He said it is difficult to figure out how I got in this position, and that my case is quite complex. He seemed very concerned.
Also, here is the blood work that I did get done today .
Tomorrow I am collecting 24 hours of my urine to do a 24 hour Cortisol-Free/Urine test for this new doctor.
Is the 24 hour cortisol-Free/Urine test accurate?
Here is the other stuff he tested me for today via BLOOD test:
• B-12
• CBC
• 25-+OH Hydroxy Vit D
• Hemoglobin AIC
• Prolactin
• Sed Rate
• Thyroxine: Free T4
• Thy Peroxidase Anti
• TSH
• High Sensitivity (hsCPR)
• Iron
• TIBC
• Cortisol-Free/Urine
I don’t even know what half of these tests are, or even what they are for? I cannot really do the Saliva testing because I am currently weaning off of prednisone and I take inhaled Asthma meds (Pulmicort).
Thanks
Mia
