Help with high estrogen. I used progesterone troches but they didn’t seem to help. My main symptoms are big fatigue, inability to lose even 1 lb, and extreme breast tenderness. They feel like they weigh 100 lbs when I get up. What other ways may help? I tried DIM as suggested by Phil in RTH but that doesn’t seem to help either. This is day 16: Estradiol: 258 I believe I was in the luteal phase at day 16. Follicular (19-83) Midcycle (150-528) Luteal (58-157)
Progesterone: 0.4 Follicular (0.2-1.4) Luteal (3.3-25.6) Mid-Luteal (4.4-28.0)
SHBG: 247 (18-114) This seems to be my biggest issue but how do I treat? Thanks

Hi there, SHBG levels return to normal when other hormones are optimized and are determined by a combination of hormonal factors: - Anabolic hormones (testosterone, DHEA, insulin, DHT, and GH) reduce SHBG, and - Thyroid hormone, Estrogens, and Progesterone (by increasing estrogen receptors/sensitivity), increase SHBG. High estrogen, low progesterone and symptoms of breast swelling (via fluid retention) and fatigue all point to estrogen dominance (and a high ratio of estrogen to progesterone) - which you undoubtedly already know. I think the best thing is for you to try another type of progesterone to balance out the 'E-P ratio' - perhaps using cream or oral micronized (prometrium) - and maybe in combination with DIM to reduce estrogen. You may also like to get DHEA and GH tested, since these can lower SHBG - though I don't know the exact hormonal path causing this. Also, make sure you reduce intake of any foods that act as estrogen-mimics, such a soy. I hope this helps Any one else with some information on this, please do comment.

Thanks Ruth, That makes sense. My DHEA is good. Testosterone is untraceable. Insulin is low. However, my thyroid dose is too high and I know it. I'd increased as I mistook my symptoms as hypo. Now it seems it's the high estrogen. I'll look into the Prometrium but I bet lowering the thyroid will help. Thanks again
