I had a very good doctor's visit today. He told me that he knows a doctor that quit practicing medicine several years ago and changed careers. Then, he got into a bad car accident--head trauma. The accident damaged his pituitary (not sure how long it took him to figure it out) and now he's practicing medicine again dealing mostly with pituitary issues. My doctor said that this doctor really doesn't believe in primary AI other than addisons but believes that most AI is pituitary related. Isn't that interesting? My doctor has some of his patients see him.
Anyway, my doctor said I can E-mail him any time I want and he wouldn't charge me. He also said he would help interpret any test from healthcheckusa (a lot cheaper) w/o charge. He has no problems with prescribing whatever(and how much) medication I need either. Yay for me. He's come a long way, I can tell he's been studying up on the pituitary. It's like he's read Chris' stickies, cause he didn't know this stuff 8 months ago when I told him that I was secondary. I did give him some of Chris' info. several months ago though. He asked me to E-mail him any articles or information that would be helpful. I can do that.

Wonderful. I'd say up to 1/3 of AI is pituitary related. Since that doc see's pit cases, I can see how he could think this way. That is great that he's treating by my articles. Did you point him to STTM articles? Tell him I'm available if he would like to talk to me.

I first started seeing him in 2005. At the time, we didn't test cortisol, he kind of blew it off and said there wasn't a good test for that. Now, he gives his patients the saliva test to take home-LOL. I told him I was secondary a few months ago and he said, "how do I treat that?" When I asked for medrol, he said, "I've never prescribed that for AI." He seems to have done some homework on pitutiary/medrol. He's come a long way, I'm impressed. He attends a lot of conferences and said some endos are starting to come around.LOL He used to deliver babies but he basically just does HRT(Bio.) now. He said he would like any info. that I have. I'll pass on the information--I told him that I went to see you. I'll buy him the flow chart.
