When I started Armour, my night-time and morning cortisol saliva tests were high. I finally settled on Holy Basil to help me sleep. the
ramping up process with Isocort to about 8 pills make me feel awful, tired overemotional. So I quit that. As I got up to 3 and 3 1/2 my adrenals were sagging a lot and I was nauseous all the time. I had to go out of town and threw up all the way up and back.
Shortly after, I went to a new doc who gave me script for 20 mg
Cortef. Instant bliss, no more nausea. But after a day or so it was
not enough, only lasted a few hours. So I doubled up. I had discover high RT3 and TPO Ab, but the doc didn't like "that Wilson stuff" (whatever he thinks that is) and upped the NTh to 4 1/2 gr. After 1 week of that I felt really awful, suffocating. So I switched myself to T3 only. After 1 week of that at 30 mcg T3 the labs look good, T4 low to midrange, T3 slightly higher that range, and RT3 decr. But I still have the suffocating feelings and leg pain which goes away when I take more HC. So Val suggested, and it sounds right to me, to take enough HC to stop the hypoth symptoms. The T3 is obviously not getting through. My hair is falling out again, tired, heavy, breathless, skin dry. Get constipated if I drop the T3 dose. So my question, I am currently at about 100 mg HC to stop the suffocation and fibromyalgia. My feeling is that I will be able to
decr after a week or so. No shakes or high BP. Head is a little weird. I don't think I have the congenital type of thyroid tissue resistance as my TSH is suppressed. Maybe cortisol resistance? My ferritin is fine.
Am I nuts, killing myself or on the right track.
Thanks for your help, suggestions.
