Why does it always say not only on the Armour website, but on the info that you get from the pharmacy, to tell your doctor about adrenal or pituitary problems. Just got a script filled.
Thanks, Mamie Hypopit...............

Hi Mamie, If you have untreated pituitary or adrenal problems (i.e. no HC), taking thyroid can cause an adrenal crisis because of increased cortisol requirements. Cheers

OK.. Is that any thyroid med or just Armour? Just wondering. And how do you know if you are on too much or too little of each? I understand you would be symptomatic, but what? I'm getting ready to start Armour. A little scared, but will do....
thank you very much. Mamie

Hi Mamie, This is the case for all thyroid medication but because Armour has 'active' T3 in it, it would likely hit harder. Before starting Armour, make sure you read through the following link: www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/natural-thyroid-101/AND remember not to increase your dose too quickly, otherwise you'll end-up having to start all over again. Most of us do well taking 25-30mg HC. Good Luck and keep us updated
