Some of you have seen my doc (St. Louis, Missouri) and I thought it would be a good idea to start a sticky that would let you share with others what you thought about him. Someone from RTH sees him every 8 weeks. I do have to say you can't post his name or info, but those of you that want it, can PM me or someone else who's seen him. Please include number of visits, treatements, etc. Do not post here (PM instead) unless you have actually seen my doc.
Thanks, Chris

Hi everyone- I spent the weekend in St. Louis visiting with Chris Jackson and his doctor. Chris is a great guy and I appreciate all his help. We went out to dinner and I got a sneak peak at the flow chart. Chris has spent a lot of time putting the chart together and perfecting it--looks very nice. I was with the doctor and/or his staff for about 4 hours. He does a physical examine, reviews your medical history, testing etc. I was kind of out of it, luckily my husband was with me. He's interesting and it's clear that he knows what he is doing. It's not just about balancing the hormones but fixing the whole body. He has a plan and likes to treat one thing at a time. Depending on your problems, you'll want to have multiple doctor visits. After I get some test results in a week or two, I'll make my second appointment.---Sept. 2008
Update- I had a phone consult about 10 days ago. We are working on electrolytes right now. He is thorough. I love that he takes notes and uses a tape recorder to record notes to himself. I will be talking again to him soon.

My Mom, brother, and I just recently made the 8 hour trip to see Chris' doctor in St. Louis. We are all sick with thyroid/adrenal/pituitary issues. The doc took an extensive history, performed a physical exam, and went over with me what he thought were my issues and their order of importance in relation to my treatment. My appointment lasted at least 4 hours. I must say this was the first doctor that when I left his office I knew he was on the right track and would get me back to feeling better. The trip there was totally worth it, and I am planning another one soon so my daughter can be seen as well.
If anyone has any questions about my visit, feel free to ask!

Hello everyone, I just returned from the doctor that Chris refered me to. OMG it was amazing!! He was so on top of everything, I was in with him for 4 + hours, my husband sat right there beside me and soaked up everything as well. He is 11 hour from me but it was so worth the travel and expence. We will be going back in 3 months for more testing as he likes to handle one thing at a time. Accually he wanted to do this test at the first visit but financially we had to wait until October. He started with Candida (Yeast) and mold tests as they are related to so many things when they run wild in our systems. He did not ignore anything as he perscribed exactly what everyone on here has been saying I need. He put it like this to me "I treat LOW TECH HIGH TOUCH and most other doctors treat HIGH TECH LOW TOUCH" of course I was confused by this (my cloudy brain lol) but my husband picked right up on it and explained when we left...lol I left there knowing that my hypopituitary is a reality and same with my thyroid and all my vitamin deficiencies. I will be doing B12 injections and injections for most likely up to a year to treat the high candida and molds that have destroyed my immune system (T-cells)?. (I really hope I understood that right) Im sure Chris if I got this confused will help explain it. Supplementing Vit D, and FINALLY starting Armour. All I can say is I feel that there is no more guessing, this Doctor it completely on top of things. THANK GOD I FOUND CHRIS AND HE LED ME TO THIS WONDERFUL DOCTOR. Tina

I saw the doctor yesterday, March 31, 2009. It was 4 hours travel one way for me and my husband who, bless his heart, drove me there and back yesterday. The appointment was at 11:30 and we left the office at 5pm..5 1/2 hours!
There is a very long health history that I filled out. It was very helpful to the doctor and staff that I did this on the computer and emailed it ahead. The history was VERY comprehensive! It took me a week of working off and on to complete. This is a very important part of the doctor's decision on what to treat first..he looks very carefully at signs and symptoms..I have never seen a doctor more concerned with every detail. He went over this history in great detail, a tiny tape recorder at the ready so he could dictate verbal notes to himself for later. He would stop and ask me more questions every once in awhile.
I was taken to the exam room after the lengthy review of the health history and given an exam like I never had before. He looked at me from head to toe..including my tongue! I had to do balance exercises, standing barefoot with feet touching each other, balanced on one foot, walking heel to toe forward and backward all of these both with eyes open and eyes closed. Reflexes for both knees and heels were tested. He looked in eyes, ears, listened to breathing and heart. The exam was done with me undressed from waist up..with a paper shirt, and shoes off.
I tend to have anxiety going to a doctor, so I took in a blood pressure log for him to see what my actual blood pressures are at home. It tends to be 160/80 or some such number at a doctor's office..but around 100/60 at home. This was very helpful to him.
I figured with my lousy ACTH number and all that, that he would want to treat adrenals..but no he found that I had all the symptoms for candida overgrowth and mold allergy, so he then sent me to another room for allergy testing, where I had something like 30 needle pricks..they injected a tiny bit of a substance, then waited 10 minutes between to see if I reacted. Talking to the nurse, she said she has never seen him wrong in what he thinks is the problem. I turned out to be allergic to 3 out of 5 molds and very sensitive to the candida. This test took 1 1/2 hours. I luckily wore a short sleeved shirt..very necessary for allergy testing as they do it high on the arm. I was sent home to read the delayed immune reaction on these pricks on Thursday. I was also sent with a syringe to give myself allergy shots starting on Thursday, depending on the results. I have a Rx for Nystatin as well.
The doctor feels that I have a fairly severe mineral deficiency, knows of B12 deficiency and vitamin D deficiency. He wants to do a magnesium loading test to see how deficient I am there. This is similar to an iodine loading test in which you collect urine for 24 hours..except you do it twice with the magnesium..once like you are then the second time after two magnesium shots. The urine is tested for the amount of magnesium excreted.
He also told me to reduce my Armour from 3 1/2 grains to 3 grains...unfortunately he is partly basing this on my TSH of zero..the other part he is basing on my persistently high pulse rates, mostly in the 90s..some in the 80s and some in the 100s. I will do it and just see what happens.
He has earmarked me for adrenal insufficiency..but I guess he doesn't think this is the most important thing to treat first.
I will return to see the doctor in a month, and they promise that the next appointment will not take nearly as long as the 5 1/2 hours I was there yesterday.
