I’m confused more than ever what is actually wrong with me! My thoughts were since my prolactin levels have been normal since July taking Cabergoline and I still had all the same symptoms there must be something else wrong with me.
I just found out yesterday my prolactin levels rose to 38 even while taking Cabergoline. I’m wondering if the drug treatment really worked at all – or perhaps it was just my prolactin levels naturally going up and down? I have a history of up and down prolactin levels back into the late 90’s. MRI in 1999 revealed no tumor and I was told prolactin levels were naturally high in me. I went to an Endo in March 2008 who found high prolactin levels and MRI revealed a 5mm prolactinoma. I began drug treatment May 2008.
June 14, 2008: 31.50 April 26, 2008: 48.77 April 19, 2008: 53.28 March 31, 2008: 52.2 February 6, 2008: 15.4
I have been on medical treatment for 10 months with an Endo and I still have all the same symptoms and no relief. They just increased my Cabergoline dose and rechecking prolactin levels in 6-8 weeks. I went to a specialty Endo for a second opinion in September and they confirmed by prolactinoma treatment was good. They suspected cortisol and thyroid issues; however, said both are ok for now and to retest in January. My primary care has thought since the early 2000’s I have nothing but depression. I really just want my life back.
Wondering if anyone else has these same problems? I hate the thought of going to yet ANOTHER DR but I know something is very off.

Ask your doc what causes depression? It's hormones. Until you get cortisol and thyroid treated, you continue to have depression Are you on the Dostinex group? health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Dostinex/The use of Dostinex (Cabergoline) is beyond my area of expertise. Chris
