I recently quit my Armour thyroid again. I think I am allergic to it. I have constant and severe hay fever when I take it. I get completely stuffed up, my entire head feels congested. I quit taking it yesterday and the stuffiness is already subsiding....I am not allergic to pork, or bacon or ham though, so I wonder what could be in Armour that I am not tolerating that well? Mia

Hi hon
I have heard some on the forums can be allergic to the fillers? Not the dessicated thyroid itself usually. I know Lee and Chris will give better advice than me but have you thought about the one (I think it is Nature throid?) that doesn't have all those fillers in it. I believe there is a bit about it on the STTM site.
lotsa luv Dawnx

Mia Its possible to react to fillers of course. However they are there in very small amounts & are common fillers present in many other meds both OTC & prescription. I am always suspicious of electrolyte issues (Sodium/Potassium) when Sinuses & Headaches are an issue. Did you try extra Sea Salt when Sinuses were stuffy? Its also possible that because your Adrenals are not supported that Armour is too stressful causing all sorts of side effects. Of course allergies, intolerances & sensitivities are very common with low Cortisol too. I strongly suspect your allergies & Asthma are related to your low Cortisol.
