Re the Rx Potassium each 20meQ tab is equal to 780 mg Potassium.
Glad to read that you are having glimpses of feeling better.
Hopefully that will continue get improve and give you more time feeling better.
Maybe reconsider the HC schedule try the 3 hourly schedule for a few days?
How much Thyroid meds are you on now? How are you dosing it? Do you take it sublingually?

Hi Lee,
Reconsidering 30HC 3 hr. schedule for tomorrow or finish up with it today. Not feeling as good today as yesterday and feeling the need for more ciggies. I know not good! Shakey off and on. Probably from cigs.
Some numb tingly kidney area off and on.
1 1/4 Grain Thyroid. 30-15-15-15, sublingually. Bumped it up 15mg 4 days ago and added it to AM dose.
Have Dr. appt. Mar.9. Thought about dropping the appt and just asking for Sod. and Potass. test and results.
1/2 Tab Florinef Day 3 all AM. 99mg Potasss. (OTC) 4x daily.
Just feel whipped today. Doing lazing around, not much at all.
Didn't sleep well last night. Tossed and turned and was hard to fall asleep. Achey shoulders this AM and achey hips.

Hey Lee,
Went to 35 HC every 2 hrs. seems to help but doesn't still have the need for Ativan PM.
Big stressor, sister came to stay. She's as bad as I am when it comes to adrenaline only hers is ongoing never stopping. She and hubby split.
I'm feel ok but not. I'm feeling the need for more HC to get me thru but don't want to throw sod. and potass. way off kilter.
I want to help sister but don't know how. She's showing all the adrenal symptoms I am. She's had way bigger health problems in the past.
Taking Ativan 4 PM. I feel like crap. Kidney area aches. Sleepy now. Nauseated a bit. I did manage to eat.
Not enough sod and potass to go with HC?
I'm feeling like I'll never get caught up with the reserves I need to get thru this.
Any more suggestions?

Hi , I'm getting ready to raise Florinef and Potassium again. 3/4 Tab and Potass. 5x daily. I understand about B/P rising 10 points on standing, but what I don't understand is how high the B/P should or could comfortably go. What is too high? My AM B/P's are low teens over 70's and 80's sitting to standing. But my late afternoon and evenings (randoms) are 130's/80's and sometimes 140's/80's. Also besides blood test how would I know if I need to be dropping some salt? I still have sweaty armpits and toes sometimes. I don't understand a lot of this. Can you explain B/P, Salt, and Florinef for Dummies?  I'm still using Ativan once daily. No specific time, whenever needed. Tried 2 hr schedule for HC didn't seem to make a difference. 32.5 HC now. 10-10-7.5-5. 1 1/4 Grain Thyroid. Salt 1/2-1/2-1/4-1/4. Potassium 99mg. 4x daily. Thanks Deb |

Hi Deb,
BP rising later in day may well be because you are taking Florinef in am only. Why not add the 1/4 tab increase to later in day see if that helps?
As to Salt you could try decreasing to 1/4 teasp 4 times a day instead of 1/2 1/2 1/4 1/4. See how that goes?
There is no Aldo, Renin, Sodium Potassium for Dummies!!! Unfortunately its very complex & more so than we generally go into here. I can give you more info on it but it's MORE not LESS complicated than what we have discussed.
As to dosing HC every 2 hours I dont think you gave that a fair go. You need to do it for 5-7 days at least to see if it will help. I thought you said it DID help some so dont know why you stopped it so quick???
Needing the Ativan only once a day doesnt sound too bad. Better than more than that anyway. When do you need it is it when BP gets higher or is it to sleep? If so the Florinef added to later in day may well help with that.
For BP am is still too low & later is a bit too high. Hopefully you can get it somewhere in the middle!!! Whats the HR like recently?
You might want to consider another small Thyroid med rise 1/4 grain? How long since last one? I know supposedly shouldnt do too many changes at once but being really HypoT wont help either.

Glad to hear from you.
Using the Ativan when I feel the adrenaline (can't feel as much in stomach) but feel in head when B/P defintely goes up 150's/90's.The other day was 11AM (had unexpected and not too sure welcome company show up), yesterday not til 3PM while watching television. No matter what time of day sleep has been OK. B/P goes back to low or normal in about 1/2 hr.
This time around with the Florinef it has no effect on how much I p. I'm not going near as much as last round of Florinef. I not feeling as thirsty. Diarreha seems to be getting better.
HR not been to bad-107 at highest-95 a couple of times. Running anywhere from 60's to 80's usually.
Still smoking unfortuately. Seems to have gone up. Thinking its a combo of more people being around and wondering what to do with meds next.
Dr appt. Mar. 9 Asking for Sod and Potass. test only and maybe RX for more Ativan. How long is too long to be taking Ativan? Or do I need to be patient and take for as long as it takes to get reserves built back up?
Will wait a few more days to add 1/4 grain thyroid. Let the added Florinef settle in a bit.
To date have lost 15 lbs. Don't know what to think about that!
Overall feel better but not, as usual. Nothing really standing out but B/P and adrenaline. Combo of the others.

Hey ya Lee Today Day 5 3/4 Florinef and 99mg Potassium 5x salt 1/2-1/2-1/4-1/4. Test results today Sod.143 and Potass. 3.7. How much potassium should I add when I add the 1/4 Florinef in the next 2 days? Still doing the 99mg ones til I get this closer to where it is in balance. And how long do I wait to get these tested again? I added 15mgmg of Thyroid yesterday. Total of 1 1/2 Grain now. Feeling better overall. Still having to use the Ativan. Still getting adrenaline hitting me in the stomach late afternoons. Altho doesn't seem to hit as hard. B/P's not going up as high as before. 130's/80's now. Shoulders and neck tense up and I get a headache. Still smoking . Still not as much as before but still feel the need.  B/P's sitting to standing still low (very low today) 100's/70's low 80's. Had to take an ativan to deal today. Hard to breathe, chest heavy and bellt bloated. Believe that ativan knocked my B/P down too low. I should have stressed dosed instead......... Duh!! Temps stable last 3 days at 99. Hangin in there, as that's all I can do. Thanks to any and all. Hope everyone is doing alright. Deb |
