By interesting I mean the state of being hypoglycemic was interesting. I felt like I was drugged and it was really strange. Then when they brought me my oj and muffin to bring my blood sugar back up it was the MOST delicious juice and muffin I've ever had! I was nervous about the test, but when they told me how I would feel when I talked to them the day before I realized that I actually had an episode like this once a few years ago. I always thought it might have been a hotflash (except I felt compelled to eat and felt better after), until they described to me what I would feel like when I became hypoglycemic, then I realized that's what it was. Sorry to go on, I'm just a little too obsessed w/ every little thing that goes on in my body these days! I'll be in touch!

Hi Laurie -
I just got some of my ITT results. I posted them on my log. What do you think? I'll put them here too, for the sake of expediency. Not sure how meaningful they are without GH also. They didn't send in GH yet, not sure why, I fear they don't think it's warranted.
ACTH 11, 21, 78 (5-27)
Cortisol 10.2, 12.7, 26.8 (4-22)
Aren't these results alone the same as an ACTH Stim?
I have an appt tomorrow w/ them so we'll see how that goes.
Thank you!

Didn't they do growth hormone stim with this too!!!! The ACTH is a crap range. IF they only did this for cortisol stim...it's a waste and a risk as hypoglycemia is not anything to be taken lightly.
Call and find out about growth hormone..if it was done. Otherwise, I'd be steamed.
I'm not sure how to interpret the cortisol stim. Because they didn't give you ACTH to stim. They induce a highly stressful state to see if your body would respond. I would think that a normal/healthy response would be with cortisol much higher....

Hi Laurie - Saw doc today. He was apologetic about their office screwing up their info to me about study. My labs weren't paid for as they said the day of test. He did not proceed w/ GH yet (samples are in freezer) because 1) he doesn't think it's necessary based on my other results and 2) he didn't want to have me incur further cost without discussing w/ me. He's not sure Lily will even pay for the GH. Also, he adamantly felt my adrenal and pit functioning were fine despite my arguments about lab ranges, optimal levels, etc. (I'm not the most aggressive person in the world when I'm in the office w/ a doc bear in mind. I also waiver in my conviction, feel I need to be more informed maybe. I think I need to carefully research and prepare my arguments on paper perhps, because I lose my bearings when face to face w docs.) Bearing in mind that Normal and Optimal do not mean the same!! Healthy/optimal morning ACTH should be in upper 1/3 of range. So, high 30(depending on range) and higher. Old range used to go to 60.Since my ACTH went to 78 from 11 doesn't that mean my pit IS functioning okay? Honestly, he said so much stuff I can't retain it, understand it, regurgitate it. I just want to ask - is it possible I don't need cortisol? ? Why is the ACTH range crap? FINALLY, he did prescribe Armour for me which is nice. (Although I realize HIS dose is too small per STTM.) Can't I just try that and see how it goes? If it doesn't work well I think I would have more conviction about cortisol..... Or maybe I'll just travel a distance after all. If I knew doc was going to help me it would be cheaper in the long run probably.... I'm sorry to go on. I feel very demoralized. Before I do that maybe I'll write my essay to my current doc and BEG him to reconsider if it seems like the right thing to do. What do you think? Thank you!
