So this is an embarassing problem! I had it right after my son was born - to be expected - but haven't had a problem since. Yesterday it happened twice. Once when I sneezed, my bladder wasn't even full, and the once when I was just standing there? I have felt like I have been going to bathroom more often and not really been increasing my fluid intake. I don't go that much when I do, even if I feel like I really have to go. At first I was thinking it might be a UTI but then I remembered after I had my son the midwife telling me that becasue you have low estrogen after childbirth it contributes to the urine leaking. Anybody experience this with their low estrogen. Or should I check for a UTI? Thanks!
(BTW I don't know if my estrogen is low, it was on the low end last time it was checked but I wasn't having a cycle then so I don't know if it counts as a low end level)

I hear you!! I can't do jumping jacks. I do think low estrogen has something to do with it. Do you do Kegel exercises to help strengthen your PC muscle? Are you constipated? Sometimes this can account for some incontinence. Laurie

I guess my concern was that it is unusual for me. I haven't had this happen since my son was born (2-1/2 years ago) it just started in the past couple of days. I didn't think that all of the sudden my problem would be lack of Kegel exercises?

It could be low estrogen or UTI. Given that it has come on suddenly, it would suggest UTI. It would be good to get serum (i.e. blood) estrogen levels tested, along with FSH and LH anyway.

My test came back negative for a UTI. I am not sure what I should do at this point. I am still having a slight problem with leaking, not like the one day but if I am in the wrong position like squatting or bending over and I get the sudden urge it is usually over, sometimes I can control it. I am not sure if I should bring this up with my regular doc (the one who did the UTI test was not my regular doc who was out of town at the time). I have also been having watery type periods instead of thick regular blood type periods. This has been for the last 3 or 4 also. I was hoping it would get better but it hasn't. Maybe this needs to be a whole new topic. Sometimes I hate being a girl!

Hi There,
How old are you know & whats your menstrual status (regular, short or long cycle, heavy/light bleeds, length of period)?
The fact that you have noticed some recent changes may mean theres been a change in Sex Hormones status.
I suggest you test
Hormonal Panel (early 8am fasting) includes FSH LH Estradiol (E2) Estrone *available USA Estriol *available USA Progesterone LH/FSH Ratio
Androgens Panel (early 8am fasting) includes Testosterone SHGB FAI DHEAS Androstenedione Free Testosterone
Low Estrogen certainly can cause leakage & urgency issues. Hypothyroid/Hypoadrenal can contribute to that too as may cause poor muscle tone & weakness (including bladder/pelvic).
I had this problem & bioidentical HRT & optimising Sex Hormones fixed it.
Remind me are you on Thyroid meds? Adrenal status/meds? [a href="http://[del:lethallee]"]http://[del:lethallee][/a]

Hi, I am 29 (almost 30 and Ever since I started to not feel well last April they have been weird. It started off with missing a period then they were shorter then I missed 2 in a row and ever since then I have been getting them on a pretty regular basis (expcept last month and this month are a week off) but they are very light 2 days average (my typical has always been 5-7 days and an entire box of multi pack tampons) and not the usual dark red thick blood/mucus (sorry, hope I am not grossing you out) but light pink light red and more watery than thick. The one I am having right now seems slightly better than the last one but it is only the second day so I can't really comment until I know if it is going to last or not. I have brought this up several times to my doctor but I keep getting told that it will take time for it to get back to normal after everything my body has gone through. I just don't know how long is o.kay before it becomes a problem. I don't want to end up infertile on top of everything else. I am on 15mg of Armour (I think, it is one very tiny tablet once a day) I think my adrenals recovered from this summer as I did the temps (low and pretty stable) and the eye dialation didn't seem to fluctuate like the example on STTM. But I had a ACTH Stim test this summer that tripled from a low base value so who knows! I can't get anyone to retest it at this point. Do you think I should bring up the period thing again with my doctor? It's been 5 cycles now since everything has calmed down, I would think it would be getting better by now?
