Chemom replied the other day about my labs and she converted ng/ml to nM. ZRT labs values vs. Diagnos tech? How do you do the conversion? Thank you, Greg

For cortisol, you take the ZRT number and divide by 362.465 (which is the molecular weight of cortisol), then multiply by 1000. This info. is in my Sticky over at RTH titled "Cortisol."

Thanks Janet. I should have looked over at the sticky. Brain fog! So, which one is the correct one or better yet I noticed that some dr's I have been to reconize the ZRT values but never have heard of Diagnos-Tech. The ZRT Labs show some tests in range but if you convert over to nM as D-T labs use which one is the correct one to go by? Kind of Confused. Thank you, Greg

That's hard to say. Some docs prefer one over the other. It is my understanding that DiagnosTechs came up with the saliva testing for cortisol in the first place. I just know from back when Val was mod. of the adrenals forum at STTM that she always said "20 nM" was a good morning level for women and "25 nM" was good for men. So that's why I always convert to the DiagnosTechs' units.
